This phenomenographic study examines how a diverse group of university teachers conceptualised their role as developers of technology-rich learning environments at one university in Finland. The research findings illustrate a variety of conceptions. Five qualitatively different ways of understanding teachers’ roles regarding the development of technology-rich learning environments were found: 1) innovator, 2) early adopter, 3) adaptive, 4) sceptic and 5) late adopter. Se articula sobre tres ejes: el enfoque de rendimiento del estudiante, la relacion entre diversos aspectos del profesor y, fi nalmente, el efecto de estos aspectos sobre el rendimiento del estudiante. Los resultados obtenidos de una muestra de 45 profesores y 932 estudiantes muestran que la orientacion al estudiante por parte del profesor afecta al aprendizaje percibido y a la satisfaccion del estudiante. Perceived employability: Investigating outcomes among involuntary and voluntary temporary employees compared to permanent employees

PurposeThe purpose of the present study is to examine how perceived employability relates to job exhaustion, psychological symptoms and self‐rated job performance in involuntary and voluntary temporary employees compared to permanent employees.Design/methodology/approachThe study is based on a cross‐sectional design using a sample of university teachers and researchers (n=1,014) from two Finnish universities. Of the sample, 40 percent (n=408) are permanent employees, 49 percent (n=495) involuntary and 11 percent (n=111) voluntary temporary employees. Se presenta el proceso de diseño y validación de un cuestionario para conocer el nivel de competencia mediática del profesorado universitario. El análisis de validez y fiabilidad se realizó en dos fases distintas para garantizar la consistencia del instrumento: validación por método Delphi y análisis psicométrico, en una muestra piloto internacional de 260 docentes. La investigación pretende conocer los enfoques y concepciones sobre docencia del profesorado universitario a lo largo de su trayectoria profesional. Desde la fenomenografía pero con enfoque metodológico mixto, nuestro análisis muestra gran variabilidad respecto cómo los docentes comprenden y expresan sus experiencias y concepciones sobre docencia. Éstas se pueden clasificar en: impartir conocimiento, entusiasmar y motivar, desarrollar habilidades y cambiar concepciones en los estudiantes; con combinaciones entre ellas.
